Most recently I had the pleasure of working on a new project with producer / DJ Troy Sylvia entitled 'Melanina'. Its a body of work i'm very proud to be a part of. Troy reached out to me through instagram after seeing some of my tutorial videos and suggested we meet up to exchange ideas. Shortly after our first meeting he brought me on board to help finish up his project and within 1 week booked me a ticket to Rio De Janeiro for a string of DJ sets he had lined up in March during Carnaval. Talk about incentive...
The next month and a half was spent non-stop in the studio. We started mixing the tracks that were already complete, and then got into co-producing some of his ideas. The man is talented no doubt. If Troy couldn't find the sound he was looking for, he knew how to guide me to the gold. Communicating musical ideas isn't always the easiest task but thankfully we are both proficient in the language. We disappeared from the world for about 45 days and came back into the light with an exciting finished project.

Your itchy feet are no coincidence. Melanina is the culmination of many late nights filled with good vibes and creative energy that we managed to polish and squeeze into an EP. Seldom does the process come so effortlessly, this was one of those special moments in time. I hope that you can connect with our energy on this project. The project as a whole and especially the single "Black Is Beautiful" spreads a real message of self love and empowerment. What is there not to love about that?
